I NEED MORE COINS.
This is a common problem in Hayday, especially around levels 20 to 40. This is a time when you will want to buy all the wonderful new machines, start your fishing, open up the mines and get a smelter or two, and then at level 34 you also get the option of starting your own township too!!! And it all costs coins.
Firstly the good news………it settles down later and you will be rolling in coins….honest!!! We know of players at higher levels who have banks accounts of millions of coins and nothing to spend it on!!!
So our tip for getting more coins is in 3 parts.
1. Firstly, slow down, you don't have to do everything at once. Do the things that you think you will enjoy most, and save up for the others when you really need them. You do not need to get all the animal pens and all the animals - this is a mistake we all made, and now we can't get rid of them….lol Trash the truck and boat orders that ask for things you can't produce yet - you don't have to do them. If you compensate by buying too many goods from your neighbours or from the newspaper, you will end up even poorer!
2. Decide on a selling strategy. Choose a few things you can make lots of, concentrate on those and sell, sell, sell. Maybe you could become the person who is always making lots of animal feed for your neighbours, or the ice-cream queen. Specialising makes you very popular. But choose items that are not regularly advertised in the paper. Wheat, corn and eggs do sell, and there are some good strategies which include them, but you are better off with more rare items like potatoes or strawberries, or even popcorn and bread. Many of your neighbours have done very well with selling fruit - look for other tips on fruit selling.
3. Make sure you are selling more than you are buying! Sounds obvious, and it is. Its just like balancing your home budget. Cut up the credit card and stay away from the temptation of other people's roadside shops. Make it yourself, or trash the order.
4. Don't expand your farm. Yes, we know you will be wanting to buy up all the extra land for your farm and in the town, extra fishing spots, and you keep getting deeds and mallets and marker stakes for them. But you really don't have to expand at all - at least not until you really run out of space…..and until you can afford to. You can sell all those deeds and mallets and map pieces for really good prices - to your neighbours, or advertise in the paper. And then use the coins to get the things that help you make more money. Extra land should only be acquired if it will help you to make more money!!!!! For example, all the town buildings can be fitted snugly on the land you get at the start of your town - you will be tempted to expand into more land, but it's not going to earn you any more coins.
